Travis Matthew Kellar, 25, of Powell, TN went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2015, at Parkwest Medical Center.Travis grew up in Powell, TN, and was a 2009 graduate of Powell High School where he was active in Football and Track, and also loved singing in the Boys Choirs for several years. Travis also grew up attending the Black Oak Heights Baptist Church, where he was active in AWANA''s and the youth group. After high school graduation, Travis attended Pellissippi State Community College and also later graduated from the AMTEC program thru Roane State in Oak Ridge. Travis was a very special and gifted young man in so many ways. He was very creative and an accomplished artist & craftsman, and could build or make just about anything he set his mind to. Travis also had a love for music and was a great singer and aspiring songwriter.
Travis was preceded in death by his grandparents Rev Bill & Mrs. Hazel Hembree of LaFollette, TN, Beecher S. Kellar of Oliver Springs, TN; great grandparents Lela Mee of Oak Ridge, TN, Lake Michigan and Nora Lee Kellar of Oak Ridge, TN, Jim and Dicie Ann Carmany, of LaFollette, TN. Travis was a loving son to his mother and father.
Travis is survived by his loving mother Judi Hembee Kellar of Powell; and his loving father and step-mother Keith S. and Karen Kellar of Powell, TN; his loving grandma Kaye F. Maier of Oak Ridge, TN; step-brother Ben Calloway of Kingston, TN; step-sister Kari Calloway (Joey) Jett of Loudon, TN and their children, who were very special, Sydney and Carter Jett; uncle and aunt Jerry and Meshell Hembree of Jacksboro, TN; great uncle Jim Mee of Knoxville, TN; and a host of other relatives and special friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Black Oak Heights Baptist Church, 405 Black Oak Drive, Knoxville, TN, for Travis on Monday July 20th from 5:00-7:00 pm with a service to follow at 7:00 pm. The Rev. Randy Singleton and Dr. Jack Parrott will officiate. Graveside service will be held 10:00am Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Rd. Powell, TN 37849.
