Verlin L. McCarty, age 85, went to be with the Lord and join his wife Lorene on Sunday, December 24, 2023. He was born in Knoxville, TN on December 9th, 1938. He spent many years in the machining industry and retired in 1998 from Oak Ridge Tool & Engineering. He married his wife, Lorene, in 1958 and they had three children. He loved animals, especially his bird Buddy. He enjoyed beekeeping and gardening as well.

He is preceded in death by his mother; Lucille Daniels, father; Ivan McCarty, wife; Lorene McCarty, and sister; Betty Jo Fesinger.

He is survived by his children; Betty (Gary) Martin, Richard (Diane) McCarty, and Teresa (D.J.) Brown, as well as several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm Friday December 29, 2023 at Woodhaven Funeral Home located at 160 Edgemoor Rd. in Powell. Graveside service at 1pm  on Saturday December 30, 2023 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Woodhaven Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Verlin McCarty.
