Mavis was proceeded in death by her father and mother, Fred & Louisa Bowman; brother and sister-in-law, Harold & Helen Bowman; her true love and first husband, Vestal Coffey; her second husband, Lindsey Reed; her daughter-in-law Carol Coffey; her grandson Chris Squalia; many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and cousins; and her best friend, Betty Wohlford.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Vernon) Weaver; sons, Gary Coffey, William (Linda) Coffey, and James (Patricia) Reed; grandchildren, Susan (Rodney) Williams, Melissa Morgan (special caregiver), Amy (Jeremy) Perez, Megan (Ronald) Spitzer, Ashley (Ben) Mellon, D.J. Squalia, Billy Squalia, and Anthony Squalia; many, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; special friends, Billy & Shirley Moore, Emily Wohlford, Barbara Pratt, and Renee Lowe.

Mavis was a wonderful wife, mother, and mamaw.  Everyone who met her loved her.  One of the biggest gifts from God was her heart of gold. She loved all of her family and made sure each and everyone knew that she loved them.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was known, back in the day, for making some great spaghetti, fried catfish, and creamed corn.  She used to love getting dressed up with her jewelry on and going shopping and loved watching her soap operas and Golden Girls.  Mavis attended church until she was no longer able to go.  She loved God and knew in her heart where she was going to go when she passed away.  You are already greatly missed hereon Earth.  We know in our hearts as a family that you are no longer suffering and you are up in Heaven with our Lord and Savior walking and seeing.  Until Jesus calls us home to be with you once again, we love you and miss you Mom and Mamaw.
