In Loving Memory of Wendy Curles Johnson
Wendy Curles Johnson, age 52, of Wartburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Wendy was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and a faithful, active member of Clinton Church of God. She was a woman with a big heart who touched the lives of so many through her kindness, love, and willingness to help others. Her love for God was evident in the way she lived her life and the love she shared with those around her.
Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, Wendy was the daughter of Betty and Gene Curles. As a Pentecostal woman, her faith was an important part of her life. She loved her family, her church, and her Lord, and she will be remembered for her loving spirit, generous heart, and the many lives she touched along the way.
Wendy leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Pastor Richard E. Johnson; her mother, Betty Curles; her daughters, Kaileigh Gardener and Ashleigh Matthews; her son-in-law, Zach Gardener; and her precious grandson, Ezra Gardener. All of her surviving family members, with the exception of her husband, reside in Virginia.
Wendy's passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who loved her. Though our hearts grieve her absence, we find comfort in knowing that her faith has become sight and that she is now resting in the loving arms of her Savior.
Her love, kindness, laughter, and unwavering faith will never be forgotten. She has left behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on through her family, friends, and everyone blessed to have known her.
