Burnette
February 11, 1950 – February 20, 2018
William Harrison Burnette, 68, of Heiskell, TN, went home to his Lord Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Harry was a member of Wolfe Valley Baptist Church. He served his country in the Air Force where he was a Jet Mechanic. When he returned to East Tennessee he resumed his job with UT Knoxville working at the Steam Plant. He worked there for 30 plus years. He also was part of the crew that constructed the site for the 1982 World's Fair. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and later in life video games. If it was outdoors and involved family Harry was there.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Lula Burnette, and his son Chris.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 44 years, Karon Burnette; he was Papaw to John Paul Waggoner and Thomas Anthony Waggoner; his brother & sister-in-law, Larry "Spanky" & Tina Burnette; his nieces, Kaitlyn and Stephanie Burnette; and several other special friends and family.
Visitation will be Monday, February 26, 2018 from 5:00pm –7:00pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN. A second visitation will be at Wolfe Valley Baptist Church, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 10:00am – 11:00am, with a Funeral Service at 11:00am, and Internment to follow. Calvin Headrick will officiate the services.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donation in Harry 's name to Wolfe Valley Baptist Church, 1031 East Wolfe Valley Road, Heiskell, TN 37754.
