Carey, William Thomas, age 86, of Powell, passed away Friday, May 2, 2008, at St. Mary''s Hospital. He was a member of Powell United Methodist Church and served in the US Army during WWII. He was retired from Y-12. Mr. Carey was a loving husband and father of four children. He loved and spoiled his five grand-children. He practiced and tried to instill in all a sense of family. Preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Ellen Carey and parents, Charles T. & Juanita Carey. Survivors include, wife, Ann; sons, Robert Carey & wife Mary, James Carey & wife Elizabeth; daughter, Margie Dukes & husband Lawton; grandchildren, Jennifer Carey, David Carey and wife Melissa, Michael Carey & wife Cara, Betsy Hoffman & husband Adam, Katie Humphries & husband David; great-grandson, Bryson Carey and great-granddaughter, Jaylon Carey. He will be missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, friends and neighbors. He died looking forward to a better life reunited with family and friends. A special "Thank You" to Dr. Eapen & Dr. Avery with Hematology and Oncology of Knoxville, as well as, the staff at St. Mary''s Hospital. The family will receive from 6:30 until 8:00 on Sunday, May 4, 2008, with a funeral service to follow at 8:00 pm in the Chapel of Woodhaven Funeral Home with Rev. G. W. Boles, officiating. Interment will be 10:00 am Monday, May 5, 2008, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the local Multiple Sclerosis Society.
