William Harvey Edmonds, 83, of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Loudon, TN.  Harvey was born on May 5, 1934 to Frank & Rhoda (Phillips), Edmonds, the second of nine children, and was raised in Jefferson County.  Harvey worked at numerous jobs before he started his 30 year career with Norfolk Southern Railroad in 1969, working his way up to smoothing machine operator. He also worked alongside his brother Wayne on their farm in the Greenback Community. On February 5, 1955 Harvey married Janie Louise Breeden in Rossville, GA and for 63 years had a wonderful life together.  They had four children, William Gary Edmonds, Rebecca Jane Blazer, Kenneth Harvey Edmonds, and Dennis Walton Edmonds. Harvey & Janie are the proud grandparents of Tabitha Birchfield, Susan Hicks, Jillian Hails, Tamara Pecora, and Makenna Edmonds.  They have two great-granddaughters, Samantha Birchfield and Isabella Carroll.  Harvey was a member of the Flying Boatmen, a precision boating team that performed shows throughout the south. He enjoyed spending time with the family, especially when he joined his brothers and sisters to share stories and memories of their lives over breakfast.  Camping trips and fishing are some of his fondest family memories.  Harvey was a very quiet and kind man, and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Harvey is preceded is death by his parents; his brother Franklin D, and his son Gary.

His survivors include his lovely wife Janie, and family; his brothers, J.P. Edmonds, Tommy Edmonds, and Wayne Edmonds; sisters Rosalee Edmonds, Mary Phillips, and Elizabeth Gibson; his brother-in-law Charles Breeden (Judy), sister-in-law Sandy Cardwell (Billy), Betty Edmonds (Jim), Linda Edmonds and Nina Edmonds; and numerous nieces and nephews; plus several other family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 2:00pm-4:00pm, with a Funeral Service at 4:00pm, which Brandon Russell will officiate.  The Interment with be Monday, March 19 ^th at 10:30am. All services are at Woodhaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Road, Powell, TN 37849.
